I am by no means a mac fan boy but your comments are frankly BS in many respects. Mac's are very stable graphics platforms as you mentioned but they are also incredible for office use and home. Mac products are not the best choices for high end tweakers or large networking options just due to support from the industry and most IT guys not knowing how to config macs properly in a short time frame.
But look at the majority of PC users. When it comes to home users, students, and in many respects office workers a mac is a better choice. Windows is still a buggy POS that either fails or restarts constantly while the Mac OS is not as customizable but it is more stable. I have yet to have a mac at home or at work shutdown, freeze or BSOD.
When we looked for a new laptop for Liza we looked at PC's and Mac's. For her general use and school work the Mac had a definite advantage. Plus I knew I wouldn't have to fuck with the OS like I would with XP or god forbid Vista. Liza's macbook has lasted 13 months with any issues; our PC's not so much. My gaming rig has had XP reinstalled more times then Britney Spears has had mental breakdowns in the past 13 months.
Plus the price point on the Macbook was much better than a comparable PC. Macs are not overpriced fashion pieces like you claim. They have evolved greatly in the last few years to be a better option for the general home, student, or small office user.
